About Naungan
Shade and steadiness for your retirement years
We set out to make Malaysian pension matters less daunting — and we do that through careful listening, plain language, and unhurried professional support.
Our Story
How Naungan came to be
Naungan was founded in Kuala Lumpur by a small group of legal professionals who had spent years advising clients on employment and retirement matters. Over time, they noticed a recurring difficulty: ordinary Malaysians approaching retirement — or supporting ageing parents — often had no clear picture of what their EPF savings or pension entitlements actually looked like. Statements arrived in the post and were filed away, unread. Claims were delayed or declined with little explanation. Families carrying a mix of government pensions and private retirement funds had no single, organised view of the whole.
The name Naungan means shelter or canopy in Malay. It was chosen deliberately. Retirement should feel like stepping under shade — a period of calm after decades of work. Our role is to help that transition feel orderly and clear, not anxious or uncertain.
Since opening our doors, we have assisted individuals from across Malaysia — from Putrajaya public servants nearing the end of long careers to self-employed professionals who realised, later than they might have wished, that their EPF position needed attention. We do not rush any of them. Each case receives the same unhurried, methodical care.
Our Mission
To give every Malaysian a clear, honest view of their retirement entitlements, and to stand beside them — calmly, competently, and without pressure — when those entitlements need protecting.
Our Vision
A Malaysia where no one reaches retirement confused about what they are owed, or left to navigate a complicated claims process alone.
Our Values
- Clarity — plain language, always
- Patience — your pace, not ours
- Integrity — transparent fees, honest advice
- Discretion — your affairs, handled with care

Personal Data Protection
We comply with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Client information is held securely, shared only with explicit consent, and never sold or rented.

Our correspondence with EPF, pension bodies, and clients is unfailingly courteous and precise — a standard that reflects well on every case we represent.
Pension and EPF legal support in Kuala Lumpur
Naungan operates from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, serving clients across Malaysia who need a dependable hand with their retirement entitlements. Whether the matter involves understanding a pension statement for the first time, pursuing a withdrawn or deferred EPF claim, or organising a family's retirement documents into a coherent picture, our team brings patient legal knowledge to each situation.
Pension matters in Malaysia sit across multiple frameworks — KWSP (EPF) for private sector workers, Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP) for civil servants, and various occupational schemes for other categories. Few individuals have the time or background to navigate these independently. Our work is to bridge that gap: not with complexity or legal jargon, but with orderly, readable explanations and carefully prepared paperwork.
We are particularly mindful of the concerns that arrive alongside retirement — questions about survivor benefits, about what happens to a pension when a spouse passes, about dependant entitlements and how to keep documentation current. The Household Pension Protection Plan was built precisely for those situations, offering families a thorough, consolidated service that honours the breadth of what retirement planning involves for real households.
Naungan does not offer investment products or financial instruments. We are a legal services practice focused specifically on understanding and protecting what Malaysians have already worked to build. Our perspective is that this kind of work should be accessible, honestly priced, and delivered without pressure — and that is the standard we hold ourselves to, every day.
